Pod2Go will download news, weather and fun daily info onto your iPod so you can take it anywhere to read. It supports articles from all the iPod websites and many Mac news websites and more. You can also sync weather from any location. There is an autosync feature which will automatically sync your iPod when it is connected to your computer.

iAppoint : exporting your Outlook (PC) calendars to the iPod.

iAppoint is a tool that simply copies all the appointements you have in Outlook to one single file. This file 'vCalendar.ics' can be copied to your iPod or Macintosh for import into iCal. iPod users For iPod users who have their iPod connected to the Firewire port it is easy. You just have to copy the export file c:\vCalendar.ics to your calendar folder on the iPod. If you have a Mac version of the iPod, you will need a tool like MacOpener, XPlay or MacDrive to make the iPod drive visible on your Windows machine.Users of the windows version of the iPod don't need those additional software.

iPod Free File Sync : synchronizing several iPods with one Mac.

iPod Free File Sync is a utility that allows synchronizing music from different iPods or any other source to your computer with ease. It shows you exactly which of the MP3/AIFF/WAV files in the source are not on your computer. After synchronizing, you can browse through the new files directly in the application you're familiar with - iTunes.

iPodMemo : putting vCards and memos into your iPod

iPodMemo is a little application which allows you to put vCards into the 'Contacts' folder of the iPod so that these could be viewed on the run. There are other uses for these vCards, such as putting small text files or Memos on the iPod. iPodMemo will look for an iPod and if it finds one then you can either use the Control button to either sync the current note directly to the Pod, or open the 'Contacts' folder, or unmount the iPod. You can also type notes up and save them to your hard drive if you want to put the notes onto the Pod later on. When files created by iPodMemo are clicked on in the finder, they'll open in iPodMemo for further editing.

NowPod is an application that transfers contact information from Now Contact 4.x to an Apple iPod. Your iPod must be upgraded with iPod Software v1.1. A better sorting is available with iPod Software 1.2. This sowftware is not compatbile with Jaguar.

SpeakNSave is a small application written for OS X that uses built-in speech technology to save computer generated speech to .aiff files. PodUtil, a management program for the iPod

PodUtil is a management program for the Apple iPod. It allows you to directly edit the Contacts on your iPod, presenting them in a list for one-click editing. As soon as you're done editing, the contacts are saved for immediate use on your iPod. Another function PodUtil can do is to copy the music from your iPod back to your computer. Here is what he says : "I just wrote a program that allows users of MS-Outlook on Windows PCs to save their contact information as iPod-readable vCards. I named it OutPod. I did it mainly for my own use, but I think their might be some interest, so I put it on my website. My website is mainly in german language, but for this program I made an english page as well".

New iPods...Whoa!

Apple introduced two new iPods at Mac World. The iPod will be available, in August, in 5, 10 and 20, GB models, containing 1000, 2000 or 4000 songs. The 20GB iPod will be sold for $499 with a case and remote control.The 10GB version now costs $399 and also comes with a case and a remote control (current iPod owners can buy the case and remote bundle for $39). The original 5GB iPod is now reduced to $299.The new iPods feature slimmer styling and a revised scroll wheel.

The new iPod is compatible with the new iTunes 3.0 that Steve Jobs demoed at MWNY. the new ipod is also compatible with iSync, which is Apple's new software to synchronise the iPod, bluetooth cell phones and palms. iSync will be a free download.

Oh..and one more thing... iPod is now compatible with Windows.
