iPod2iTunes 1.8 final released

iPod2iTunes 1.8 final has been released. iPod2iTunes is the only iPod utility which provides real synchronization of tracks and even playlists from any iPod to any Mac. Version 1.8 has the following changes compared to v1.7:

Open Pod 0.51e

Open Pod is a virtual can opener for your iPod. Open Pod copies all entries of your iPod library into a new playlist which ist called "OPEN name_of_your_iPod". With this playlist you have full access to all mp3s for drag an drop, further scripting, reveal in finder and anything else you're used to do with songs in iTunes. Each time you run this programm it will delete the old Open Pod playlist an will create a new one.

Review of the i-Vod, the best leather case for the Apple iPod.

Vaja Cases will start selling, this week, a new case for the iPod. Even if the case is design for the 20 Gb iPod, the 5 Gb and 10 Gb models also fit. The case we received was the i-Vod with a belt clip. The case is a new cushioned semirigid model. It gives you full access to all functions without having to open any cover.

When you receive your case, you first notice the little leather bag, in which the case is protected. You then open it, and discover a case with your name engraved at the back (optional). It is quite easy to put your iPod in the case. It fits very well (even the 5 Gb or 10 iPods). The case seems to protect your iPod way better than the Vaja iPod case that was sold for the 5Gb and 10 Gb iPods. You can feel that even if you drop your iPod, it won't be broken. On the back panel of the case is a standard metal post for adding the included swivel belt clip. Since there are two versions of the iVod, you can buy one without the belt clip, if you don't need it.

Price and availability.

The iVod will be sold for $69.90 with a belt clip or $65.90 without belt clip (classic line).The re will be different colors : the classic line will be available in black/black color combination. However, there will be a "Custom" option where customers can choose between more than 32 colors combinations,and with the option to personalize the case on the back with the name owner/company name.

Bottom Line

The Vaja case is awesome. When you receive it, you will notice the quality of craftsmanship. It protects your 20 gb iPod in elegant style. It also works with the 5Gb and 10 Gb iPods even if Vaja designed it for the 20 Gb model. We did not try to drop the iPod, but we're pretty sure the case would protect it. The case is also beautifull and lets you easily access all the iPod controls.

PersonaPodX 2.1

Personapod is a helper application for the iPod. Currently it is only for OSX 10.1 and above, but future versions will be OSX, OS9 and Win32 compatible. PersonaPod allows you to manage your contacts and notes for your iPod. It allows you to set an Alarm on your iPod and on your Mac. In addition, you can use PersonaPod to manage media that you may store on your iPod, such as images and movies.

PersonaPodX 2.1 solidifies compatibility with the vCard system used in the 1.2 Firmware upgrade. The notes section uses roughly the same font as the iPod and indicates iPod screen width to aid note creation. The Alarm can now be saved to a connected iPod.
